Another Mainline Tidbit
In 1996, The Episcopal Church had 2.366 million "baptized members." It had an average Sunday worship attendance at all its churches in the U.S. combined of 875,400.
In 2005, the denomination had 2.205 million baptized members. It had an average Sunday attendance of 787,271.
So, while the population of the U.S. climbs, this and all other mainline churches continue to shrink.
The source article where I found these numbers is very interesting. It can be found at http://www.livingchurch.org/publishertlc/viewarticle.asp?ID=3451
