Commerce and Justice Collide!
The International Justice Mission is a cause that I fully support. Their work to end slavery, false imprisonment, and human trafficing around the world is without parallel.
In an effort to support IJM, and in an effort to get people to read some of my favorite books, I just opened a little e-commerce "booth" through www.lemonade.com. I put a "booth" on my Facebook page, as well as putting a link in the right column of this blog.
Lemonade is supposed to help you make a little money on your site. However, I am going to take whatever profit I get (and I don't have any idea how much or little that will be) and send all of it to IJM.
The one thing that makes me a little uneasy about this operation is that a) I don't know how much money I will get from this and b) the books are bought through Wal-Mart. I am no fan of Wal-Mart, for a number of reasons. Also, their book selection ain't to great.
So, I'm considering this an experiment. I'm going to run with it for a month or so and see what happens. If it looks like a good idea, I'll keep it up. Otherwise, I'll figure out another way to get you all to give to one of the world's greatest charities!
Anyway, here it is:
