Doing My Small Part for Darfur
I am a part of the Save Darfur movement. If you aren't, you should really check out SaveDarfur.org. Anyway, yesterday they sent out an e-mail to their members encouraging us to post a question on YouTube for the upcoming CNN/YouTube Republican Presidential debate.
So, I did it. I went into the church sanctuary and used ten minutes of my life to record, upload, and submit a question. I don't think they will use my question, but I hope that if there are tons of questions about African genocide, perhaps ONE of them will get used. I asked my question to Fred Thompson, mainly because he is from the Nashville area and because I don't know where he stands on anything. I asked in the church, in my "work clothes," because I think this is a spiritual and moral issue.
A warning: I did my question in two takes. Watching it makes me cringe. I think I come across like those anchorpeople on TV: "Today a plane crashed killing 200 people, and now, the world's cutest kitten's team up to bring sunshine to your day." But, hey, at least I'm doing my part.
