My friend has died.
Tom Seckman has gone to be with the Lord.
It is with great sadness that I write to tell you that Tom Seckman has passed away. Along with his late wife, M.E., Tom was one of the founders of Church of the Redeemer. He was greatly loved by many people, including his church family. He was a dear friend of mine.
Tom's funeral will be held at Church of the Redeemer at 2 p.m. this Tuesday, November 26th. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the church. 920 Caldwell Lane, Nashville, 37204.
St. Paul reminds us to "not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope." (1 Thess 4:13) We should grieve for Tom, as for all of our loved ones who have died. But we don't grieve like the hopeless. We trust in Christ and in his Resurrection, so we know that death is a transition into a greater glory than we can now imagine.
We expect a large number of guests, so if you would be willing to bring food for the visitation, we would be grateful. You can contact Bonnie Moore at huntermo AT aol DOT com.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, you send contributions to Family Affair Ministries, a cause close to Tom's heart. 1600 Riverside Drive, Nashville, 37206.
I ask that you pray for Tom's family. I hope to see you Tuesday,
Blessings in Christ,
Fr. Thomas McKenzie
