St. Thomas Day, Late
My family had a wonderfully busy weekend. My daughters performed in
1) their school Holiday musical
2) our church's Christmas Pageant
3) their dance school's Nutcracker
I also saw the Nashville Symphony's "Handel's Messiah," Nashville Ballet's "Nutcracker," and Danny Boyle's "Slumdog Millionaire."
And all of those things took place on either Friday or Sunday. It was crazy.
So crazy that I blew past one of my favorite days of the year, St. Thomas Day. St. Thomas falls on December 21st, the winter solstice. And it is the birthday of this blog. iHajj now enters its fourth year, having its first entry on Dec. 21, 2005. Here is a link to that first post.
This day also marks the beginning of a new iHajj technology. For the first time in my life I now own a phone with a camera function. (The picture above was sent from my phone, can you tell?) I am so behind the times. But now I can post pictures from my new blackberry, as well as post text and record to my podcast.
So, watch out. iHajj is putting another crack in that technological glass ceiling. (though I doubt that mixed metaphor actually applies)
