The Adventures of Thomas McKenzies Everywhere
I love to see what my fellow Thomas McKenzies around the world are up to. Here is a recent example:
JOYRIDE IN ROY'S BENTLEY
From the Glasgow Daily Record
A teenager who took ex- Celtic star Roy Keane's old Bentley on a 120mph joyride got two years probation yesterday.
Michael Tait swiped the £105, 000 motor after sneaking into a garage in Fort Kinnaird, Edinburgh.
He and pal Thomas McKenzie raced off in the sports car then abandoned it near their homes in Niddrie.
At the city's sheriff court yesterday, Tait, 17, was told he faced a long detention if he offended again.
Outside court, Tait said: "When I found out it was Roy Keane's old car, in the police cells, I couldn't believe it. I was driving it. I think I might have gone up to 120mph - it was quite a buzz. But I am not going to do it again or I will get the jail."
An earlier hearing was told Tait's fingerprints matched those inside the car.
Tait, of Niddrie House Drive, Edinburgh, admitted breaking into the garage and stealing the Bentley while on bail last August.
Sheriff James Scott told Tait: "If you fail to carry out the probation order you can expect to go straight to custody for a substantial period."
McKenzie, 18, was sentenced to six months for theft at an earlier hearing.
