The Confession Booth
O.K., I just started a new blog. It's long been my opinion that the sacramental act of confession is in great need of revival in our churches. I have all kinds of crazy ideas about how to get people to start confessing their sins. Well, this is one of those ideas.
I've just launched a site called TheConfessionBooth.org. Its in association with my church (they own the site address). I am hoping to use it as a venue in which people can tell the truth about themselves. I am hoping that people can get honest and say things they are afraid to say. And, I want them to do it anonymously.
But it doesn't stop with confession. I then want to be able to pray for them. Further, if they demonstrate sincere repentance and a desire for new life in Christ, I will respond and pray for God's forgiveness for them.
Is this a good idea? I'm not sure. I know that the sacramental act of confession has been done by mail. So, why not by blog? Experimental? You bet. But, we will see.
So, if you are interested, check it out.
