Three Church Videos
I saw two church-related videos today that made me squirm a bit. They also inspired me to add a "welcome from the pastor" video to our church website. I felt like a total dork making this video for our church, but I think it turned out O.K. Just ignore all the choppy edits.
The first video that bugged me belongs to a new Anglican congregation down in Florida. I really want to send my love and prayers to these brothers and sisters in Christ. Seriously, I believe God is going to bless them. But their video leaves a lot to be desired in terms of quality, sound, and use of in-language. You can check it out here.
The second video that I saw was from a local megachurch. It is a well produced piece in which the pastor lays out the distinctives of his congregation. It is sort of the opposite of the first video. I am sure that his message appeals to a lot of people, apparently thousands of them. But it definitely does not appeal to me. You can see it for yourself over here.
Watching these, as uncomfortable as it was, did make me want to use the "power of video" to give visitors to our website a quick vision of our congregation. So, I did it. You can see it on our church website here, or check it out on YouTube over here.
